Squigs

Squiggly Beasts, better known as Squigs, are the simplest form of Orcoids. There are many varieties of Squigs, each one fulfilling one role or another in the Orc ecosystem, having developed a strange symbiotic relationship with the Orcoid race. They are also the main source of food for Orcs, along with Orc Mushrooms.
There are many types of squigs, but most can be classified into one variety or another, such as edible, musical, hairy, parasite hunter, and so on. Squigs usually live in the cesspools of Ork settlements, known as Vents, feeding on Ork waste. Gretchins and Snotlings are often tasked with catching them for various needs. The task of caring for squigs usually falls on the shoulders of the Snotlings under the guidance of the Drovers. Most squiggles are edible, but some are specially bred for this purpose.
